What KoalaFix fixes. And when a person takes over.
KoalaFix handles supported, repeatable problems across Windows and Microsoft 365. This is the practical boundary: what can run automatically, what pauses for approval, and what stays with your team or IT provider.
01 · The short answer.
KoalaFix diagnoses the problem on the affected Windows computer, runs supported low-risk fixes, asks before more sensitive changes, and records what happened. It is built for the everyday problems that otherwise become repetitive support tickets.
The exact action depends on the cause, the device and the permissions available. KoalaFix verifies the result and hands the issue to a person when software should not make the call.
02 · Capability map.
These examples show the boundary, not a promise that every cause can be repaired in every environment.
| Area | Fixes automatically | Fixes after approval | Hands to a person |
|---|---|---|---|
| OneDrive | Checks sync state, storage, paused sync and problem files; restarts the sync engine. | Resets the local sync engine when a restart is not enough. | Tenant storage, permissions, data recovery and wider service incidents. |
| Outlook | Checks the local sign-in, modern authentication and profile state. | Clears stale credentials or rebuilds the local Outlook profile. | Exchange service faults, mailbox administration and tenant policy. |
| Teams | Ends stuck processes and identifies the installed Teams version. | Clears the correct cache or repairs the local installation. | Microsoft service incidents, licensing, meeting policy and tenant configuration. |
| SharePoint | Searches SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Outlook for moved or renamed files. | Repairs supported local sync connections when the device is the cause. | Site permissions, ownership, retention, recovery and information architecture. |
| Windows | Diagnoses supported service, update and application problems. | Runs changes that affect services, updates or local application state. | Hardware failure, onsite work, network infrastructure and unsupported system changes. |
| Printers | Checks the queue and print service; restarts a stuck print service. | Clears stuck jobs or repairs the local printer setup. | Broken hardware, cabling, shared-printer administration and network faults. |
| Accounts | Checks account state and the available sign-in path. | Runs supported password or sign-in recovery with the required authority. | Identity verification, sole-admin recovery, licensing and security-policy decisions. |
03 · The permission model.
KoalaFix works with the access of the person who is signed in. It cannot reach Microsoft 365 data that person cannot already reach. Administrator actions require the appropriate administrator approval.
Every action is risk-rated. Supported low-risk fixes may run automatically. A change that needs approval pauses and explains what will happen first. Risky or unsupported actions are refused. See the full security and permissions breakdown.
04 · What stays with a person.
KoalaFix is not an unlimited human helpdesk. Keep an MSP or internal owner for:
- Urgent manual escalation and judgement calls
- Onsite hardware, cabling, networking and ISP problems
- Servers, infrastructure and ongoing Microsoft 365 administration
- Security strategy, procurement, migrations and custom projects
Compare KoalaFix with an MSP to see where the two can work together.
05 · Common questions.
Can KoalaFix fix every IT problem?
No. KoalaFix focuses on supported, repeatable Windows and Microsoft 365 problems. Hardware, onsite work, networking, infrastructure, security strategy and custom projects still need a person.
Does KoalaFix make changes without asking?
KoalaFix risk-rates every action. Supported low-risk fixes may run automatically. Actions that need approval pause and explain the change first. Risky or unsupported actions are refused.
What Microsoft 365 access does KoalaFix have?
KoalaFix uses the access of the person who is signed in. It cannot reach Microsoft 365 data that person cannot already reach. Administrator actions require the appropriate administrator approval.
Does KoalaFix replace an MSP or IT provider?
No. KoalaFix can take supported, repeatable issues off the queue while an MSP or internal IT person keeps responsibility for human, hardware, network, infrastructure and project work.
