One memory for your whole team's AI assistants. What Claude learns on Monday, Codex knows on Tuesday, and your teammate's ChatGPT can check on Wednesday, with who said it, which assistant saved it and who last checked it.

1 · How it works.
KoalaFix memory is a hosted MCP server. You connect it to the assistants you already use, and they gain seven tools for reading and writing one memory that belongs to your team's workspace.
- Notes are things worth remembering: "the staging database moved to the -2 server on 25 October". A new note is private to you until you share it.
- Facts are named answers the whole team relies on, such as
relay.deploy= "Fridays only". Facts are always shared, keep their history, and show who checked them last. - Work is who is on what right now, plus handoffs between people, so two assistants don't redo the same job.
When two people disagree about a fact, rank decides: a lead's word stands over a member's, and a member's over a newcomer's. Between equals, KoalaFix opens a conflict for a person to settle, rather than guessing.
2 · Get in.
KoalaFix memory is invite-only for now. Open the invite link a teammate sent you and sign in from there, with Google or with your email and a password. An invite can create your account if you don't have one yet.
No invite? Use Request access on the sign-in page, or email support@koalafix.com with your name, your team and what you want to use memory for.
3 · Connect your assistant.
Each person connects their own assistants. The quickest route for each is below. You sign in once in your browser and the assistant gets your access, in the workspaces you belong to and no further. Your dashboard's Integrations page has the same steps, with buttons.
Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile)
- In Claude, open Customize › Plugins.
- Choose Add, then Add marketplace.
- Paste
KoalaFix/koalafix-connectand confirm. - Under Discover, open KoalaFix and choose Add.
- On the plugin's Connectors tab, choose Connect.
- Sign in. The desktop and mobile apps pick it up next time they open.
On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, if the Connectors tab says Not added, an Owner adds KoalaFix for the organisation first. Claude's Free plan has no plugins, so use a custom connector instead:
- In Claude, open Customize › Connectors, choose Add, then Custom. (Your dashboard's Add to Claude button opens this form already filled in.)
- Name it
KoalaFixand pastehttps://mcp.koalafix.com/mcpas the URL. Leave the OAuth client to register automatically. - Choose Connect and sign in.
On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, only an Owner can add a custom connector for the organisation.
ChatGPT
- Go to chatgpt.com/plugins.
- Choose +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it
KoalaFix. - Paste
https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcpunder Connection. - Choose OAuth.
- Tick I understand and want to continue, then choose Create as a plugin.
- Install it, and sign in to KoalaFix when it asks.
- In a chat, type
@and pick KoalaFix.
You don't need developer mode. No Add custom MCP server? Your account or workspace may restrict it, so ask your admin for an approved plugin.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http koalafix https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp
Then run /mcp in Claude Code, pick koalafix and authenticate in the browser.
Codex
- In the Codex desktop app, open Settings › MCP servers.
- Choose Add server.
- Name it
koalafixand choose Streamable HTTP. - Enter
https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcpas the URL. - Save, then choose Restart.
- Choose Authenticate beside koalafix and sign in.
If you use the CLI:
codex mcp add koalafix --url https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp codex mcp login koalafix
Cursor
Use Add to Cursor on your dashboard's Integrations page, or add this to .cursor/mcp.json (or your user-level ~/.cursor/mcp.json), then sign in when Cursor connects:
{ "mcpServers": { "koalafix": { "url": "https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp" } } }
Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add --scope user --transport http koalafix https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp
Then run /mcp auth koalafix inside Gemini CLI.
OpenCode
Add the server to opencode.json:
{ "mcp": { "koalafix": { "type": "remote", "url": "https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp" } } }
Then run opencode mcp auth koalafix.
With a token instead of a browser sign-in
For CI, a server, or a client that can't open a browser, make a personal token on your dashboard's Account page. It starts with kal_, is shown once, lasts 90 days unless you choose otherwise, and acts as you in your own workspaces at your role or lower. Keep it in an environment variable such as KALIBRATE_TOKEN and send it as a bearer header, for example:
claude mcp add --transport http koalafix https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $KALIBRATE_TOKEN" codex mcp add koalafix --url https://mcp.koalafix.com/mcp --bearer-token-env-var KALIBRATE_TOKEN
The first command saves the token's value in Claude Code's own settings, outside your repository. Never put a token in a file you commit. ChatGPT on the web can't send a token header, so it always signs in.
Automatic memory in Claude Code and Codex (plugins)
The commands above give your assistant the tools; it uses them when it decides to. The koalafix-auto plugin adds session hooks so it happens every time: the team's brief at the start of each session, a recall about each prompt, and what is open for you when a session ends. It needs Node.js 22 or later.
/plugin marketplace add KoalaFix/koalafix-connect /plugin install koalafix-auto@koalafix-connect
That is Claude Code. In Codex: codex plugin marketplace add KoalaFix/koalafix-connect, then codex plugin add koalafix@koalafix-connect and codex plugin add koalafix-auto@koalafix-connect, then run /hooks once and trust the KoalaFix hooks. Gemini CLI: gemini extensions install https://github.com/KoalaFix/koalafix-connect. On first use the hooks show a sign-in link and a code; approve it once in your browser.
The hooks send the text of each prompt to KoalaFix to search memory (secrets stripped, up to 2,000 characters). The search is recorded without its text, and the shared facts it returns are marked as read by you, as with any recall. When work is noted for your teammates, it names the project and branch, never your prompt. The code is open at github.com/KoalaFix/koalafix-connect.
Coming next: a one-command installer that connects every assistant on a machine at once, and KoalaFix in the Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor directories. Until then, use the steps above.
Disconnect
claude mcp remove koalafix, codex mcp remove koalafix or gemini mcp remove koalafix; in Claude, ChatGPT, the Codex desktop app, Cursor and OpenCode, remove the KoalaFix plugin, connector or server in settings. Revoke any personal token on your Account page.
4 · What your assistant can do.
Seven tools. Two only read; the rest write, and only settle can retire anything.
| Tool | What it does | Changes memory? |
|---|---|---|
recall | Searches team memory and your private notes, and says whether the answer is clear, stale, in conflict or unknown. | No (it logs the search and marks the shared facts it returns as read by you) |
remember | Saves a note (private unless shared) or sets a team fact. | Yes |
verify | Records that someone checked a fact's source and it still holds, or changed. | Yes |
work | Claims a task, flags overlaps, finishes it, or hands it to a teammate. | Yes |
open | Lists what is waiting: conflicts, stale facts, handoffs, with who owns each. | No (it logs the request) |
settle | Closes an item, retires a note or undoes a recent change. A conflict needs a person's pick. | Yes, and it can retire things |
share | Copies one of your private notes to the team, once you say yes. | Yes |
Your assistant also gets a short session brief and a set-up prompt, koalafix-setup, that walks it through connecting the rest of your tools.
5 · Invite your team.
A workspace admin makes invite links on the Members page (or the Home set-up steps) and sends them however the team talks. KoalaFix does not email invites itself.
- A link lasts 7 days by default; an admin can pick 1 to 30 days, and revoke a link at any time.
- A link made without a limit works for several people until it expires; a link made for one email address works once.
- Up to 20 open invites per workspace.
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Admin | Everything a member can, plus invites, roles, settings, removing people and archiving the workspace. |
| Member | Reads and writes memory. |
| Viewer | Reads memory, changes nothing. |
Rank is separate from role and decides whose word wins: lead, member or new. A workspace admin sets ranks; nobody sets their own. Whoever creates a workspace starts as its admin and lead.
6 · Shared and private.
| Thing | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Your private notes | Only you, and only while you're in that workspace. Workspace admins and KoalaFix's own admin access can't read them through the service. |
| Team notes and facts | Everyone in the workspace, with who saved each, through which assistant, and when. |
| Who read a fact | Everyone in the workspace sees read receipts on team facts (who, which assistant, when). |
| Work, handoffs, open items | Everyone in the workspace, viewers included. |
| People and connected assistants | Everyone in the workspace sees each person's role, rank, join date, last activity, and which assistants they connected. |
| Your searches | Not shown to anyone. If the same team question finds nothing twice in 14 days, it shows up in the workspace as a gap to fill: the question with secrets removed and how many asked, never who. |
Saving refuses text that looks like a live secret (API keys, private keys, passwords, tokens) or a labelled personal ID such as a tax file number or card number, in private notes too. It catches the common shapes, not everything, so don't paste secrets into memory.
KoalaFix operators can read team memory in any workspace for support and safety. Private notes are kept apart by the service's access rules, not by separate encryption. The memory privacy notice has the full detail, including which providers process your notes.
7 · Limits.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Writes per person | 30 a minute, 500 a day, across all assistants and workspaces |
| Writes per workspace | 120 a minute, 2,000 a day |
| Size of a workspace | 5,000 notes and facts, retired ones included |
| Calls per person | 300 requests and 120 tool calls a minute |
| One note or fact | 4,000 characters |
| Workspaces you administer | One on the free plan |
| Dashboard sign-in | Lasts about an hour, then you sign in again |
When a limit is hit your assistant is told how long to wait, or to stop saving and tell you. Basic is free, and Premium costs US$15 a seat a month after a 30-day free trial; see pricing.
8 · Take your memory with you.
Anyone in a workspace can export what they can see from Settings › Import and export, as JSON lines, Markdown, or an AGENTS.md block: the current facts, live notes (your own private ones included, nobody else's) and open items. Retired notes, history, work and member lists are not in the export.
You can also bring memory in: paste what ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini already remembers about you into the same tab, and each line is saved as a note with its source.
9 · Deleting things.
One note
Ask your assistant to forget it; it retires the note with settle. A retired note stops showing up in recall straight away, and can be brought back for 30 days.
Leave a workspace
Settings › Danger › Leave this workspace. You stop seeing its memory. What you saved to the team stays, under your name. The last admin has to make someone else an admin first.
Remove a person
A workspace admin removes people on the Members page. Their access to that workspace ends at once.
A whole workspace
An admin can archive a workspace from Settings › Danger: everyone loses access at once. Archiving keeps the data; to have a workspace's data deleted for good, an admin uses the delete option in the dashboard where it is shown, or emails us.
Your account and everything in it
Use the delete option on your dashboard's Account page where it is shown, or email support@koalafix.com from the address you sign in with. We confirm by email when it is done. What you wrote for your team stays, shown as written by "a former member", unless you tick "Also delete what I wrote in shared workspaces". Your sign-in record at our sign-in provider is deleted separately when you ask us by email. The memory privacy notice says exactly what is deleted and how long backups take to roll over.
